The end of Multiple Sclerosis? And a PhD
The story told here is very good news for those affected by this terrible illness.
"We are approaching the search for multiple sclerosis therapeutics from a new direction,” Merchak said.
But the story told here is a confirmation of the negative bias that dramatically affects many companies and private Research Centers, where the encrusted experience of years (of obscure bureaucracy work most of the times) politically wins over the fresh smartness of younger people.
This research was led by Andrea Merchak, a doctoral candidate in neuroscience (candidate!) at the School of Medicine’s Department of Neuroscience and its Center for Brain Immunology and Glia (BIG).
The quest for the perfect car
The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is an interest group working at finding good and weak points in transportation evolution, from the point of view of being low or zero impact for the environment.
ICCT was behind the Dieselgate back in 2013. They later published an opinionated whitepaper in 2021, with calculations about the full lifecycle impact of an electric vehicle.
