The EU Parliament has voted to approve the AI Act. This is a nice graphical representation of the intended effects of the upcoming law, due to be finalized in late 2023 or early 2024.
Video-Based Cryptanalysis
We were able to recover secret keys from non-compromised devices using video footage of their power LED obtained by commercial video cameras.
Wow. Power LED (that innocent small light that signals your computer or other device is powered on) reveals ongoing computing activities inside that same device, and might ultimately be used to gather secrets if properly filmed.
Climate change precisely announced 70 years ago
The large increase in industrial activity during the present century is discharging so much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere that the average temperature is rising at the rate of 1.5 degrees per century.
